Consumer Review
Does what it’s supposed to do!!!
I have been a quilter for about 15 years now. This is my first reach out into the world of portable industrial sewing machines. What I was looking for was a machine that could go in a straight stitch, through anything, with minimal fuss. The Janome 1600p does all of that and even gives me extra wiggle room for when I’m machine quilting. (I tend to stick with the in-the-ditch style). It should be noted that all specialty feet, including a “walking” or even-feed foot, are not included. The directions in the manual do tend to make more sense if you look at the machine at the same time. I really appreciate the bobbin’s location as it enables me to change the bobbin without completely removing my project from the machine. It does suggest once a year maintenance, available at a local dealer or sew and vac shop. The construction is exceptionally solid, no extra fancy features that never get used or cheap plastic parts. Even the reverse lever has a steel support. All and all, I’m very excited…
