I LOVED the author’s way with words-using humor and facts together. He was down to earth and even medical issues made sense. I like the thinking of this book and putting it together with the “eat right every time” and “six meals for six pack abs” is the ultimate goal for results. I learned new statistics and facts about nutrition that I did not realize even after years of trying multiple ways of dieting. I totally recommend this book!

Terrible on Kindle
This is a very good book, however Kindle is absolutely the wrong format for it. Some books must be in hard copy, and this is one of them. Time and again, there are helpful demonstrative graphs and charts showing foods, diets, nutritional values and they simply get chopped off in the Kindle alignment. Also, this book is a TOOL. All books like these are tools for you to use. You may read the book but after that, you read from it. You must flip around, look at a chart, use an exercise plan, then pull a few diets, then the power foods list. Kindle doesn’t support this.

Well written, but wait the extra few days and spend a few extra bucks for a paperback edition. You will get the full value of this excellent source of information and diet plan.

Good Insight
I like the fact that the authors explain how things work in our bodies (how protein intake relates to the increased metabolism resulting from the workout, and to the muscle growth; which foods are good for metabolism; which of them aid in weight loss or lowering cholesterol levels). Although the idea of having six meals a day does not always fit my busy schedule, the one of snacking with fruits and/or nuts between main meals does seem to be effective in my case. What I like most about the book is the well balance diet that does not exclude any food groups. I am a great believer in the nourishment based on natural foods and The Abs Diet fully supports this belief. Dr. Tombak in the book “Can We Live 150 Year” farther explains proper food combination and its effect on our bodies. For that reason his book is a very good addition to The Abs Diet.

No videos in the Kindle version
In the Kindle version of this book, there are hyperlinks to a series of videos for each exercise. However, the Youtube account responsible for showing the videos is defunct, as of Oct. 25, 2012. This means you can’t see the videos.

The reason I give the Kindle book three stars instead of one star is that the text is fabulous. However, as a rank amateur in weight lifting, I need those videos!

I have written the author asking if there is an accompanying cd or dvd. No word yet.

Inspiring – The best fitness program I have found
This no nonsense approach is so refreshing!

I had previously been lured in to buying magazines and books based on empty promises. I hate to admit that I have fallen for the tag lines, “Lose a 24lbs in a month” and “get the beach body you have always wanted”, and it has always resulted in an article padded out with useless information about how the program that is being sold will work for me and pictures of guys doing some flashy technique in the gym which they had obviously never used to build thier own phisique.

Simon Boulter shares his knowledge of fitness and health in an uncomprimising and honest way. Thanks for the help.

Disappointing and Impractical
I bought this book and was extremely disappointed. While it does lay out a different menu for each of the 30 days, grocery shopping for these menus would be completely impractical. I sat down to write the list for the first week and by the time I got to day 3, it was two pages of ingredients in small quantities which is impossible to shop for. While the variety is enticing, it’s not expected that you’d find one slice of reduced fat swiss cheese or two butter lettuce leaves for sale. You’d end up buying all this food to only use a small amount – the book doesn’t reuse certain ingredients enough within a week’s time that you’d actually benefit from buying the entire package of swiss or the entire head of butter lettuce. Also, some of the recipes are for WAY too many servings – for example there’s a recipe for 24 mini blueberry bran muffins, but you only are instructed to eat four of them in the 30 day period. Similarly there’s a recipe for 12 servings worth of chili but you only…
